Woman Saves Pennies and Gets Dollars!
According to Yahoo News, a La. woman saved up 55,000 pennies. She lives in La., and over the course of years dropped her shiny pennies in an assortment of bowls, vases, and shoeboxes. After awhile, friends started giving her their pennies too. Now 55,000 pennies is only $550, but it is still an amount of cash that looks similar to the presidential recession fix tax rebate we keep hearing about. And I have certainly been in situations where 5 bills would have helped me out!

Addictive Cheap Auctions with Silvertag and Charity Too!
Why is Silvertag Addictive?
Well you bid on auctions that are all for charity on Silvertag. The lowest unique bid wins! What?
For instance, if you bid $34.99 for a video MP3 player, and so does somebody else, then that is not unique. However, if you bid $34.99, and even if two people bid lower $33.99, you still can win if you are the only bidder with that bid! The unique bid means it is the only one with that exact price, and if you are the lowest one who did that, then you win? Did I just make that sound more complicated then it needs to be? Well, go to the silvertag charity auction website and watch the short video so you’ll understand it all!

Cheap Eats — Slop, er Pasta For Dinner, But It Is Good, Healthy Cheap Food!
LOL – the one place we can control costs is in the grocery store. I do not mean that we should sacrifice healthy food. In fact, I am a big advocate of staying in the outside aisles of the store and purchasing food that are close to natural. In other words, most of our grocery baskets should contain fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and low fat dairy or meat. That is not to say that you will never find me with a carton of diet Coke or a bag of tortilla chips. But I do look at my basket and try to keep those purchases to the 20% of my basket, where the food I can justify stays in the 80% category.

US Inflation Rate is the Worst in 17 Years!
High Inflation Means You Need Frugal Living To Survive!
Inflation was the nasty word of my youth. Now Yahoo News just reported that inflation has hit the highest rate in 17 years. This probably does not surprise most of you who are trying to buy gas and groceries.
Does anybody else remember the Whip Inflation Now (WIN) Buttons during Ford’s administration? It was an attempt to encourage good savings habits and curb spending. Did it work? Well most historians do not think it worked that well and that inflation remained a big threat to the economy. However, nobody can fault President Ford for trying.
