Better Indoor Air Quality for Less Money

Clean Air in Your Home

Studies by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) concluded that air pollution levels in many U.S. homes are three to five times higher than outside. Here are some cheap ways to improve the air quality in your home:

Ban smoking in your home - Tobacco smoke contains more than 4,000 chemicals, 200 of which are know poisons.

Keep pets outside – especially if you have someone with pet allergies. Bathe and groom your pet regularly to reduce pet dander, a common trigger for allergies.

Cheap Vacuum Cleaners

Good Cheap Vacuum Cleaners

As the King of Siam would say vacuum cleaners are a puzzlement. Some friends tell me you can not buy a decent vacuum cleaner under $400.00. My mother swears by her $89.00 (purchased sometime during the late 1990′s) Regina Housekeeper Plus. Another pal says the only thing worthwhile purchasing is the $1000.00 Rainbow vacuum cleaner. My neighbor says she still has her $500.00 Electrolux from 20 years ago. While others sing the praises of the Dyson and that Australian guy.

Happiness Research – Best Buy for Happiness

Health Magazine reports a new study reveals that if you are going to spend money, spending it on a day at the beach or a night out with friends rather than a new handbag is much better for your health. The research presented at the annual meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, show that the handbag is likely to lose its appeal much more quickly than the happy memories of get-togethers.
