Best Drugstore Hair Color

Choosing a Haircolor

If you want to dye your hair at home here is the best way to choose your color according to Family Circle Magazine:

The trick to natural looking results whether you are going lighter or darker – is to stay within two shades of your own color. To get the best match bring a picture of yourself with you to the store. Your real shade on paper will give you the most accurate information. Read the color guide on the back of the box for info. Don’t go by the image of the model on the front – you have no idea what color her hair was originally.

More Best Drug Store Makeup Buys

Best Drugstore Brand Makeup to Conceal Scars

Family Circle always does a 10 drugstore makeup buys under $10.00 article. I love these tips because I really do think that for the most part drug store makeup and beauty products are just as good as the more expensive stuff.

The companies have access to the same research and therefore the higher end companies probably just have higher prices due to higher advertising budgets. But when you go to the drugstore, the choices are overwhelming. To add to the difficulty some cheap beauty products are just that – cheap and awful. Here are products that are used by the editors of Family Circle so you can have confidence they work!

Castile Soap for Shampoo

Inexpensive Sulfate Free Shampoo

Sulfate free shampoos are the latest trends in shampoos. SLS and SLFS (sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate) act as a foaming agent in soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, dishwashing liquid and just about anything that produces a foamy lather. The biggest complaint about shampoos containing sulfates is that they can strip hair color and the natural oils out of your hair. Overtime, this causes hair breakage and hair loss, especially when combined with other harmful chemicals. If your hair is relaxed or colored, it is already fragile and the last thing you want is a shampoo that is going to damage it even more. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is also known to cause skin rashes, hair loss, scalp scurf (similar to dandruff) and other allergic reactions.

Money Saving Prom Night Tips

Cheap Prom Wrist Corsage

PROM CORSAGE

Corsages can cost $15 to $50, but there are ways to cut this cost down. Wrist corsages generally cost more than the pin on prom corsages. The reason the wrist corsage costs more is that it takes longer for the florist to make. Also, the type of flowers and number of flowers you choose will also affect the price. Grocery stores also carry corsages around prom time and cost less. Think less is more and go with a few flowers instead of weighing down your wrist and detracting from your dress.
