My mechanic had actually kept track of his fuel consumption on trips to Austin and when the tires were inflated properly he did get better mileage. Also give your car regular tune ups and do scheduled maintenance. Your car is just like your body, if you maintain well, will run smoothly and efficiently.
Our local paper also mentioned not topping off your tank because fuel can slosh out of the tank.
