New Frugal Living Tips

Frugal living doesn’t mean doing without, it simply means doing more with what you have. You can make things that you already have do double duty and that will save money. Here are some great new frugal living tips concerning new uses for hand lotion.

1. Get rid of winter clothing static - Put a small amount on you hands and rub them over your clothing or pantyhose.

2. Polish shoes – In a pinch, a little bit of lotion buffed with a cloth salves the leather and makes shoes shine.



3. Moisturize under your gloves – Store a tube of it near your gloves (gardening, rubber or regular winter) and smooth some onto your hands every time you put them on. You can also put lotion on your hands before you go to bed and wear cotton gloves.

4. Get rid of frizz - Spread a little over fingertips (not directly on hair) and scrunch your fingers through the frizz.

5. Shave – Lotion can be used to shave your legs and as a bonus your legs stay moisturized afterward.

Here are three more new frugal living tips:

1. If you want to get that last little bit of lotion out of the bottle, just add a small amount of water and shake the bottle. You can also do this with shampoo and conditioner bottles.

2. You can dilute your lotion, shampoo and conditioner with water with out comprising its effectiveness. When the bottle gets halfway empty, simply refill the empty portion with water or herbal tea and shake it up. If you use an expensive shampoo the cost gets cut in half.

3. You can also make your own shampoo by mixing 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1 cup warm water. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and spray on hair. Work the mixture through your hair. Let it sit for about 60 seconds. Rinse out with cool water or two tablespoons apple cider vinegar mixed per cup of water.
